About Manila Electric Co.

Manila Electric Company holds a congressional franchise to construct, operate, and maintain an electric distribution system in the Philippines. The company operates in Power and Other Services segments. It offers power to approximately 7.8 million industrial, commercial, and residential customers in 38 cities and 73 municipalities, including Metro Manila, and the provinces of Rizal, Cavite, and Bulacan, as well as parts of the provinces of Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon; distributes power to customers in Clark Special Economic Zone; and develops, constructs, and operates solar-powered generation facilities; and owns and operates coal and diesel-fired, and liquefied natural gas power plants. The company also provides electromechanical engineering, construction, consulting, and related manpower services; rail-related operations and maintenance services; insurance and re-insurance services; e-business development; renewable harnessing services; energy power distribution and energy systems management; and electric vehicle and charging infrastructure solutions. In addition, it offers engineering, procurement, and construction services; telecommunication services; information technology and multi-media services; construction and leasing of communication towers, and other infrastructure; and operates and maintains transport service networks. Further, the company provides e-transaction and bills collection, outsourced payment collection, and outsourced tellering, as well as engages in real estate, property management and leasing, and coal trading businesses. Manila Electric Company was founded in 1903 and is headquartered in Pasig, the Philippines.
