Kongsberg Maritime AS, along with its subsidiaries, provides products and systems for positioning and navigation, marine automation, onshore and offshore installations, merchant marine, and safety management solutions. Its products include bridge systems, camera systems, deck systems, engine room and automation systems, information and safety systems, naval systems, onshore systems, sensors and transmitters, simulators, subsea systems, and tank gauging and measurement systems. The company also provides autonomous underwater vehicles; marine technology handling systems; sonar seabed survey equipment; underwater acoustic products, including imaging and profiling mechanically scanned sonars, multibeam imaging sonars, multibeam echo sounders, and altimeters; subsea gas measurement and environmental monitoring systems; marine electronics, such as precision positioning and motion sensing systems; and fish finding equipment, including fishery sonars, echo sounders, and net instruments. In addition, it provides cargo handling, subsea survey and construction, maritime simulation and training, satellite positioning, and other maritime or oil and gas related solutions. Further, it specializes in electro instrumentation and telecommunications engineering, and system integration; engineering procurement and construction contracting; project management and site management services; and engineering, simulation-based training services to heavy equipment operations, product rental, product training, and support services. It serves defense, maritime, oil and gas, and aerospace industries in Norway and internationally. Kongsberg Maritime AS has a strategic alliance with Huntington Ingalls Industries. The company was founded in 1814 and is based in Kongsberg, Norway with additional offices worldwide.
