Southern Peru Copper Corporation - Sucursal del Peru engages in the mining, milling, and floatation of ore to produce copper concentrates. The company also smelts and refines copper concentrate to produce copper anodes and cathodes, as well as molybdenum, sulfuric acid, gold, silver, and other by-product concentrates. It operates the Toquepala mining unit located in the region of Tacna; the Cuajone mining unit situated in the region of Moquegua; and a foundry and refinery property located in Ilo, Peru; and holds interests in the Tia Maria project in Arequipa, the Quebrada Honda dam in Tacna, the Quaternary Crushing plant in Cuajone, the Los Chancas project in Apurimac, and the Michiquillay project in Cajamarca. The company also exports its copper products to the United States, Europe, Asia, and South American countries. The company was incorporated in 1954 and is based in Lima, Peru. Southern Peru Copper Corporation - Sucursal del Peru operates as a subsidiary of Southern Copper Corporation.
